Dr. Franklin Nobrega, University of Southampton, United Kingdom will join the 8th World Congress Targeting Therapy which will be held this June in Berlin.
Topic
KlebPhaCol: Novel Gut Phage Order Associated with the Human Gut
Presentation Summary
Dr. Nobrega fwill present his research on KlebPhaCol, an open-source Klebsiella Phage Collection designed to advance the study of Klebsiella pneumoniae and its interactions with bacteriophages. As antibiotic resistance in Klebsiella infections rises, alternative treatments such as phage therapy are gaining interest. KlebPhaCol includes 53 phages and 74 Klebsiella isolates, covering diverse clonal groups, capsular-locus types, and phage families, including a newly identified phage order, Felixvirales, associated with the human gut. By providing researchers worldwide with access to this resource, KlebPhaCol aims to expand knowledge on phage biology and its potential applications in combating drug-resistant infections.
